“ Had a birthday diner here with family last night. We started with a champagne toast and some very interesting appetizers including the lentil soup, sweet sour butternut squash and stuffed artichokes. All were very unique and delicious. For mains we had the Bronzino and truffle pasta prepared table-side. Also had lasagna and the Casa pizza with stuffed crust ( a favorite). For desert we enjoyed the tiramisu, pistachio gelato and Semifreddo (chilled custard with almond and pistachio). For a Tuesday evening the restaurant was packed. You definitely need to make reservations before you go. Atmosphere is intimate and service was very attentive. Also were treated to a chorus of "happy birthday" Italian style. You should definitely give Osteria Amore a try. ”
“ This spot is perfect for a date night and offers an unforgettable dining experience. Its convenient location makes street parking easy to find. However, it does get crowded, so I highly recommend making reservations in advance. If you opt for a walk-in, be prepared for potentially long wait times--though we were lucky and got seated within 15 minutes. The service here was exceptional. Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations for both appetizers and dessert. As for the food, it was outstanding overall. We started with the stuffed zucchini flowers, beef carpaccio, and mushroom soup. The stuffed zucchini flowers and beef carpaccio were absolute standouts and highly recommended. The mushroom soup, however, was a bit disappointing--it was too oily and had a grainy texture that didn't work for me. For the main course, we had the daily special lobster pasta and a pizza. The lobster pasta was delicious, albeit slightly fishy in flavor--something to keep in mind if you plan to have leftovers (it intensifies when reheated). The pizza was phenomenal, with a perfect smoky flavor from the wood-fired oven. It also reheated beautifully the next day. Overall, I highly recommend this place for its fantastic food, great service, and warm ambiance. It's definitely worth a visit! ”
“ I made a reservation but had to wait a long time, it was to celebrate a birthday. However, they were kind and offered courtesy appetizers and I thought it was a nice gesture. The Osteria Amore pasta is delicious ! I loved it. The decoration and design of the place is great. I had a hard time finding parking nearby. ”
“ This is probably the best meal I've had since moving to Utah 7 months ago. The Gnocchi alla Sorrentina was like having pasta and pizza in one and was SO good (reminiscent of pizza pot pie at Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder which is my fave from back home). The papperdelle was a bit dry but still very good. I appreciate that the vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free menu items are labeled as it's been difficult to find vegetarian friendly restaurants in SLC. Dessert was also great & we went with the server's suggestion which was some kind of pistachio cheesecake/ice cream thing. The staff was kind and the ambience is very cool. ”
“ This place is so yummy! My boyfriend and I came for dinner and we left feeling very satisfied. They have a pretty large menu so as long as you don't have a gluten and dairy intolerance, you should be able to find many options. The restaurant ambiance is very date night friendly and the service was solid. There really isn't anything bad to be said, and I think the price was fine. It was a little tricky to find parking and so we had to walk quite a long way after parking on the street a block and a half away. The two of us both got pasta dishes and were both happy with our food, and our starter bruschetta was also delish. We will definitely be back! ”
“ One of the best Neapolitan-style pizzas I've eaten in a long time! The first thing that stood out walking into Osteria Amore was its beautifully decorated interior - one side of the restaurant is essentially an above-ground wine cellar. We came in around noon and were offered both the lunch and dinner menu, ultimately opting for a pizza and pasta. Based on reviews, the most popular pizza seemed to be the Casa which is a red sauce pie that comes with a stuffed ricotta crust (not actually stuffed like I was expecting, more like ~infused with the essence of ricotta~). I was super impressed with the authentic floppy and pillowy texture of the crust and flavorful San Marzano tomato sauce. The namesake pasta was also deliciously creamy. There is no physical dessert menu but the waiter verbally listed several classic options including tiramisu, panna cotta, crème brulee, semifredo, profiteroles and gelato. Despite being completely stuffed, I simply couldn't pass up one of my favorite desserts, the panna cotta, which was artfully presented on a plate that included surrounding pistachio and cocoa powder garnish. The mixed berry topping was just the right amount of tart and tasted very true to fruit. Service was friendly and relatively efficient- the only thing I would change is that all of our dishes seemed to come out at the same time, making it difficult to fit everything on our small table and I would have appreciated a little more thoughtful spacing out. But other than that, highly recommend checking out this authentic Italian gem for an elevated casual meal while you're in town- no reservations needed. ”
“ Heading to the U game vs tds and was able to acquire reservations for our party before the game. I'd suggest getting your reservations more than a week early on game night as it's only a couple blocks away. We had a party of 7 and were seated promptly with our reservation. Our server was amazing, wish I'd grabbed his name. He even took a picture of our party, and himself, for us. We ordered the following; Beet and Buffalo salad, very good. The server suggested the lasagna, which I thought was just okay. 3/5 Osteria Amore, this is my go to here and it never disappoints. 5/5 We also tried a dessert special, don't remember the name, but it was a dark chocolate fudge ball with a sauce and fruit, very rich, and very good. 4/5 Got us out on time for us to head to the game. Great evening! ”
“ In town for work and my SIL took me here for dinner. She said her and my BIL had been here for dinner once on a date night and she's been wanting to return. She made a reservation so we didn't have any wait on a Saturday night which was nice. Our waiter, Hostess and the bus boys were all very friendly and attentive. They had some specials off the menu and with their double-sided menu it was definitely a hard Choice as there were so many delicious sounding options. They also have a wine and cocktail menu separate with some great choices. I started off with a Santo Hugo because I like sweet drinks. This had Prosecco St Germain elderflower and some fruity syrups and was not overly sweet and it was a generous pour. For dinner I went with the Osteria Amore pasta dish, which is labeled as one of the fan favorites and I can see why, as well as a side of sauteed asparagus. I would definitely get this pasta again and the asparagus was perfectly cooked & seasoned with only two of the Spears having a stringy bottom stalk that I had to cut off. For dessert I got the panna cotta which is topped with berries and a slightly tart berry puree. This is my absolute favorite dessert and so many restaurants do not serve it. So even though I was full from my dinner I could not pass up the chance to have it and we shared it at the table and everybody loved it. The prices are fair for the quality and portions. I would definitely return on my next trip here. ”
“ There are so many good things going on at this restaurant. The highlight was the squash flowers filled with fresh ricotta. The special of crab, scallops and fresh pappardelle pasta with fresh baby tomato sauce was so tasty. The pasta in this dish was a little too al denté. The gnocchi was difficult to taste because it was literally swimming in a breadbowl full of pasta sauce. Not the best dish for gnocchi, unless you like a bowl of marinara sauce with some pasta. The staff were outstanding - knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, it was a nice place for a dinner date. ”
“ Picture it: you're walking into a restaurant that you've never been to before, about to have dinner with five people you've never met. That was my experience this past week as I was having dinner with strangers through TimeLeft. (If you've never heard of that, check it out. This review is about the restaurant, so I'll move on.) The space is incredibly intimate-low lighting, tables are cozy and packed in, but not uncomfortably so. There's a modest bar area with ample drinks where you can enjoy a cocktail before sitting down to dinner, which is what our group did. The staff are all attentive and friendly-even the bartender was engaging while he was actively making our drinks. We were seated outside and it was everything that you love about dining al fresco-perfect weather (not that they can control that, but it was!), romantic string lighting with a backdrop of creeping ivy above and around us. Picturesque, for sure! The most impressive part of the night was our server Vincenzo. He made it a point to memorize everyone's names-all six of us. When he brought our orders out, he sat them down and called us by name. When he returned to check on things, name dropping again. Bill time? You guessed it, he used our names as he confirmed what everyone ordered. We requested separate checks, which I know is obnoxious, and he handled it with professionalism and grace. The food was also outstanding-I enjoyed the fish special, which Vincenzo deboned tableside while having casual conversation with the group. He made our event spectacular. Dessert was nice-I tried the chocolate and cherry gelato flavors. It was subdued and not too sweet. I had almost turned around and went home when I had a hard time finding a parking spot (that's the one real downside to this location), but I'm so glad I hoofed it a few blocks and made it to my reservation. This is one that I won't soon forget. ”
